Subject: Short articles needed from ADOPTED ADULTS POINT OF VIEW for the Fall Issue of Focus On Adoption, The Adoptive Families Association Magazine by June 2/19
Hello Adopted Community,
I am very pleased to be asking for your help in filling the entire Fall 2109 Issue of Focus on Adoption with articles and information by adopted adults. The issue is entirely devoted to US! This is your chance to be heard and to educate, share, invite change, or whatever is bubbling up inside you that the adoption community at large and adoptive parents and families need to know. NO topic is off limit, it is really about us adopted people saying what we want that seems important to us to share with others, especially to adoptive parents and families.
There is space for approximately 10 articles, mostly 750 words, but if you have some research or something more substantial to share, there is space for a few articles of 1250 words. Even if you are not a writer and struggle with expressing yourself this way I urge you to contribute your valuable point of view. Myself or the regular editor, Brianna are happy to help edit or clean up anything you would like a second set of eyes to help with. Brianna also suggested that she would be happy to INTERVIEW anyone who doesn’t want to write but has something to share.
The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS is JUNE 2, 2019.
I can’t underscore enough how rare and fabulous an opportunity this is!!! I know it is not a lot of lead time, but it is almost a month away and the short articles are only one page typewritten.
If you are interested please let me and or Ginny know and send your stuff along as soon as possible. The time does pass and I don’t want to miss this chance for our voices to be heard.
Thanks to those of you who have already expressed interest, I look forward to hearing from more of you.
