ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – JUNE 7, 2025
Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the FMNFS’ 2025 Annual General Meeting! We appreciate that you have decided to join us.
Since our last AGM in October 2024, we have been a little more active than we have been in the last few years. We have had a couple of Board meetings where we discussed the possibility of a workshop, made a few changes with our TELUS phone plan and changed our signing authorities on our bank accounts. Thanks to Gail, Audrey and Kimberley-Ann for doing this.
At our AGM last year, we had many returning to the Board and Executive, some in slightly different roles. I returned as President, Gail Davies continued on as Treasurer, Amy Newman as Secretary, Alison Csanyi, Audrey Harrington and Steve Ell as Directors. At this time, Kimberley-Ann Jandl joined us as a Director. At our first Board meeting on November 9, Amy resigned as Secretary. Kimberley-Ann took that position and Audrey became our Vice President. Amy continued as our Website Administrator. Thank you to each of you!
The one big that has happened is our website has been updated and tidied up. Thanks to Amy for finding website techies who could do the updates and work on security updates. Thanks also to Audrey and Kimberley-Ann for going over the website to determine what we did and didn’t need on it.
We are still holding two ZOOM support group meetings a month. We have named them ZOOM 1, which I do on the first Wednesday of each month, and ZOOM 2, which Michael Hodgson does on the third Tuesday of each month. Audrey Harrington and Diane Herbert hold the in-person dinner/support group meeting on the second Tuesday of the month in Abbotsford. The meetings are all going well with new people finding us thanks to the website and word of mouth.
It is now my pleasure to thank our Executive and Board for the support that they give to the FMNFS:
Audrey, thank you for agreeing to be our Vice President. At times, you are like a dog with a bone…..a very good dog working on that bone that needs working on. Thank you for that.
Kimberley-Ann, thank you for agreeing to take on the job of Secretary. You have stepped up and are doing a great job with the Minutes from our meetings. An important job for sure!
Steve and Allison, thank you both for remaining on as Directors. You both have quiet ways of offering your support and I really do appreciate you two!
Last but not least, a huge thank you to Gail. I like to think of Gail as our backbone! As she has done for so many years, Gail, as our Treasurer, looks after our financials. She keeps our budgets and bank account in line and patiently answers any questions asked of her. Thank you for getting the paperwork done, Gail, so that we can keep our non-profit status with not a thought from the rest of us. You just go and do what needs doing. You are so very much appreciated!!!
And so, my friends, thank you for continuing to support and renew your memberships to our Society! Without you, we wouldn’t be able to do the important work that we do.
Marnie Tetz
President
